Throughout our life, we observe death and more life continuously. Normally, we dread death, but the author suggests that it may be a stepping stone to another form of consciousness. Or, perhaps, life & death are flip sides of the same "coin" of consciousness?
Through a first-person narrative of one's experiences with life's transition, this novel explores major what-if questions upon death, e.g., "Did my life have meaning?" and "How will I be judged?" This story captured my curiosity and spun it through several social scenarios that had me fantasizing if my end will be a beginning (a rebirth) -- or not. Readers of gentle religious inclinations (without a hell) should recognize the implications, and this novel will provide them a hypothetical example. Some science-minded readers may be reminded of documented cases of near-death experiences that temporarily transform one's consciousness to a new dimension!
Even some agnostics may be intrigued by proposed ideas of survival and life's purpose, especially since life's "purpose" may have different perspectives. As an agnostic myself, I enjoyed the story as a good science fiction read, but remain uncertain about its merit regarding reality. Either way, this book should open your heart, if not also your mind.… (más)
