This is truly an encyclopedia on prayer in the United States. It is a fabulous book.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I learned so much about the history of the United States and the importance of prayer in its life. Sometimes I had to put the book down to laugh. Often, I had to put the book down to cry.

The author painstakingly and masterfully leads the reader through the all the years of our nation's history, from the very earliest days to now. Religion, politics, education, entertainment, art, and science are but a few of the broad topics examined.

I encourage people to read this book, regardless of whether or not they have faith, or even pray.
