Reseñas

This issue does not have a special theme. There are four main articles. The first is a history of a particular incident of homosexuality in the 16th century Catholic Church and why it was dealt with more harshly than other incidents in the same time period. The second is Walter Harding's detailed analysis of Thoreau's writings about his own sexuality. The third is entitled "Factors Affecting the Coming Out Process of Lesbians." The fourth is a very interesting study that broke down self-gender measurements by gay and straight people. The analysis showed that even though lesbians and straight men measured as more masculine than gay men or straight women, they appeared the same only in the aggregate. If you broke down the individual ratings, the lesbians and straight men used very different words to describe themselves. There are also a bunch of book reviews including a very interesting one of Serena Nanda's Neither Man nor Woman: the Hijras of India
