I skipped stories from authors that rate all their books. It's not the case with those that only rate antologies; I still don't like it but I can understand it like a recognition to their co-authors.

What brought this book up to 3 Stars for me was the 'hot' factor between Nick and Justin.

A very short story, the usual classic meeting of a gay vampire and a normal male. Too short for any character development or gripping plot. Couldn't help wondering that if the story had been developed as a full length book, the unique touch of the author Jules Jones would have made the story different from the norm for vampire-human romances.

My fav Jules Jones book so far. The dolphin-human shapeshifters is a fresh idea amongst all the werewolves and similar usual supernatural creatures. The story is interesting, and has the right amount of steamy scenes.

This is the first time I have read the series by Jules Jones and Alex Woolgrave.

Allard was a computer geek with some attitude problem: he doesn't like to receive order and doesn't like to be treat like a number. So he decides to join a crew of stranger people that has made a syndacate. He will be the sysadmin.

Vaughan was the crew's engeneering and also the captain, even if he doesn't like the be call "captain". He is an hunk man with a tender heart. He likes Allard from the very first time and soon he manages to have him in his bed.

But Vaughan understands very well that the grudge behaviour of Allard is due to his fear of the personal relationships and he achieves to gain his trust step by step.

All the book is soffuse with an happy humor and the sex scenes are lightly and enjoyable.

I will look forward to read the next books in the series that I will go to buy soon after I finish to write this post

In this second enstallment of the adventure of Allard and Vaughan we read of the growing relationship between the two, and how this relationship become stronger.

Allard learns to overcome his fear in let his companion takes control and Vaughan become more confident that Allard will not go away from the Syndacate.

Even if this series is setting in the future, the day to day problems are the same of today: how can I trust my partner with my heart? can I surrender to him without the fear to suffer? Will he stay with me forever?

In all the reviews I have read for this series, the main aspect is the humor; instead I find that the strong factor is the romance between Allard and Vaughan: they are two adult men who choose to stay together, who are aware that their relationship is not mere sex and that they can build something together.

Trashy gay romance novel about a young scientist who goes to work as an personal assistant to a high-profile gay businessman. The young scientist falls in love with the businessman and a romance evolves. Very typical romance novel, the only real difference is that both main characters are male (and there is no third entity competing for the attentions of one).

All in all it seems to be an excuse to write about lots of gay sex scenes.

This is really a shapeshifter romance cause for the first time, both in M/M than in F/M romance, I have read of the problems and fears a normal man could have to deal with a supernatural lover.

Martin is a quite and clever man, openly gay and he is still recovering from the betrayal of his last lover, a seeming on the closet gay, and really a bisexual man who has used Martin as his mistress behind his wife.

So Martin has agreed to pass some time in the sea home of his best friend Simon. The first day he meets two dolphins, very friendly and interested in him. And maybe for lack of company, or maybe cause he really like the dolphins, he starts to go out to meet them.

But the dolphins are two hunk shapeshifters, George and Patrick, cousins and doms, who want a sub lover like him. Martin has some worries about accepting this relationship, but in the end he lets his heart drives him, instead of his mind.

Martin is a quite beautiful character, even if sometime I found his submissive behaviour a little too sub... I know I know, is incoherent, and maybe is a demonstration that Jules Jones has really achieved to describe a perfect sub character.

Patrick is a "preferibly" dom, but not a "must be". He deferred to George, and he can also manage to be a bottom sometimes. He really likes only two things, sex and food, and now he loves Martin. He is tender and young, and still needs to be cuddle.

George is a real dom, he is in charge, of Patrick and Martin, and holds the weight of responsability on him. But like a good master, he knows when push, and when holds back. And he really cares of Martin, wants only to pleasure him.

Sex between the three of them is more a natural need than a proof of feeling, but this is coherent with the partial animal nature of George and Martin; and what really matters to Martin is that they understand that is a choice of Martin to let them do what they do.

I really like this book and as it takes me two day to read it, between the two reading session I continue to re-live mentally some scenes: this for me is a sign that this book will remain in my mind for many time and I will re-read it often.

This short story complete The Syndicate series.

It's a funny tale about a S. Patrick Day that Allard and Vaughan pass far from their space-ship.

What I have liked is that, with the temptation to make a threesome, Allard and Vaughan choose to stay alone and to spend a romantic night on their own.

A little tender conclusion to an enjoyable series.

The third enstallment of the series is a cup of sweet cream (like cream for hot chocolate, don't think bad!!!)

Allard and Vaughan become more and more tender... Allard himself become even sociable with others than Vaughan.

In this novel the real main character is Allard, Vaughan remains a little in the shadow: but, in fact, this is the "marriage" story and from the old times, the bride is the protagonist, and Allard is the "bride"!

The wedding night is one of the most tender sexual scene I have ever read even if it is not so erotic: all the series, for me, is more tender than erotic.

I absolutely love the last romance by Jules Jones!

Mark is a PhD scientist student who accept a job as PA of an oldest scientist, now CEO of his own company, Steven. Steven is gay, like Mark, and during the job interview makes clear that people will gossip about their relationship in and out the office. Steven is older and richer, and Mark is prettier and younger so thing is clear, who want who and why...

But really the love between the two grow slowly and strong during the time. The sex arrives very soon, but in the first time is a friend type of sex, good for both, enjoyable and quite. I have appreciated a lot the sex scene descriptions cause they seem to me real (also the fact that maybe Steven, at forty four years old, can't have sex ever and everywhere...)

In the first part of the book I have a strange feeling about the character of Steven: he is nice and handsome, but also distant. He makes sex with Mark but seems to me like his emotions stay out of the whole thing. But when the two make clear their mutual feeling, the love blossoms in full color and emotion.

This is not a fastpace reading, you have to savor it: it's like a vintage wine and it will stay with you long after you have finished it.

This is a combined review of The Syndicate volumes 1 to 3

These books tell the story of a "captain" and computer geek onboard a space ship, who fall in love with each other and in volume 3 even get married. And this is pretty much the whole plot of the series. So even if these books tell the story of a handful of characters onboard a space ship, don't expect to read about their adventures in space.

But even if the plot of this series is quite weak as a sci-fi book, the series is a very enjoyable m/m romance. It has two very likable main characters and very good second characters, too. In addition to that there's a lot of humor and steamy hot m/m sex. I really liked the witty and funny dialog between the characters, which made this book an enjoyable read.

Taking Work Home follows soon after the end of the previous book. Mark and Steven are lovers, but they still live on their own and work together. They spend most of the weekends together, but Mark is maintaining his space while they test their relationship. But now is time for Mark to meet all Steven's family and not only his parents: New Year's Eve is the planned day and it will be also the day in which Steven will announce to his family that he not only wants to live with Mark, he also wants to marry him.

As the previous one, I like a lot this book since it satisfies one of my kinks, my love for May / December relationship. Here at its full, with Steven being a 46 years old wealthy man, and Mark a 26 years old young man just out of college. Steven takes the lead of their relationship not only in bed but also during their day-to-day routine, and Mark is more and more becoming the perfect secretary wife; he is careful of Steven's needs at work but also in his private life, he supports him with comfort and sex when needed, even when Mark himself is not receiving sexual satisfaction from the act.

This is one of the aspect I found interesting in the book. Sometime sex was more than an erotic interlude to entertain the reader; sex was part of the reason Jules Jones gave the reader to understand Mark and Steven's relationship. Mark could be younger than Steven, but he is an old "younger": he is not more in that age in which sex is everything and more is better; he can fill a stab of annoyance when he didn't obtain what he is trying to reach, but he is wise enough to know that if it's not now, it will be later. Of the two, Mark seems to be the wiser, above all in the matter of living together, and so the unbalancing given by the age difference, is a bit covered by their completing personality.

Another thing I found really charming is the English feeling of the novel, with our characters, both main than supporting ones, who always think that a good cup of tea can be the answer to a lot of problem. So English that, even when they are arguing, they are polite and kind. No loudy tone, no bloody reactions, but a cool composure and bitter reply... sometime words can wound more than a sword.

If you fancy a silver romance, Taking Work Home is really a good choice, even if now I'm waiting to read of their marriage and of all the organization before it.

John is a solitaire man. He has to live in a shared house to sustain his permanence in London, but he doesn't like to socialize. He has nothing against other people but he prefers to stay alone and mind his business.

After a bad experience with an homophobic landlord, he goes to live in a big victorian house. The new landlord, Charles, is a nice man, involved in politics, and with an open minded attitude. He doesn't mind that John is gay, not at all, he is bi. And in fact, he is quite attract from John, but he respects his privacy and for the first weeks he takes his hands afar.

But days pass and the attraction for John is growing. And one night he sets himself up to seduce his new lodger. But John has a little guilty secret (and another not so little...) and a Black Leather Rose will help Charles to literatelly unveal the multiple layers that wrap the real John.

A quite interesting and brief story. Maybe the two characters are worthy of something a little bit long: when I was at the climax of the story, it has ended! Jules Jones has an happy hand to decipt very complex but nice geeky characters: John will line up with the geeks of Syndacate and Buildup series.

Julian and Karl are a strange couple. Karl is a big scandinavan man, 6 and half feet tall and with long blond hair, like the classical Odin imaginary, but he is a bottom in a BDSM relationship. Instead I imagine Julian like the classical professor english type, lean and fair (we really don't have a physical description of him, so I have developed my own imagine).

This is a short story, 30 pages, so it's not more than a scene (in the very meaning of the word). We can say that Julian and Karl are a "new" couple, given they haven't yet try all the possibilities in their relationship and it's not yet decided if they will be together for a long time, or only for some months, till the things between them are still good.

Julian wants to bring their relationship to a new level, of intimacy and trust, and in this night he also wants to prove to Karl that he can find what he searches with Julian, in his home and in his arms.

There is a game of trust between the two, even if Julian "forces" something with Karl, even if Karl has not said aloud his agreement: but Julian knows it's time for them to try it and perhaps his being the top in this relationship is due also to that.

For a short story, it has two uncommon characters who make it a worthy reading.
