I was drawn in from the very beginning with this book, my first read by author Carrie H. Johnson. She breathes full life into Muriel who's juggling family, career, job, stress and all that goes with being a working woman. The characters appear realistic, and even though Muriel is a forensic firearms specialist, the terminology isn't written to the point where you need a dictionary, or your browser opened to Googlel. I loved this book and I can't wait to read more from this author and this series! I'm going back to get the first book in the series, to get some back story. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes an action-packed, fast paced read, with believable characters and flows well.

I did enjoy this book by Johnson. The main character was well sketched out and one got to know here well, even with the hot flashes, which did provide some humor in a book that is mostly a mystery or detective story. The plot was well done and kept you occupied in wondering what was going to happen next.
