Penny Jessup

This reads like a bottom-of-the-barrel AO3 fanfic that was written by a 6th grader who is trying to sound like a teenager. It’s also probably the straightest, most hetero gay werewolf book in existence. Idk how you can mess up queer enemies-to-lovers so badly but Penny Jessup somehow drove this book right into the ground.

Okay I now get why this one was so lowly rated by others. First, Jasper is a jerk and never really redeems himself in any way as he remains a jerk past the end. Second, the dad literally hits his son and Max knows that but the dad explains it off by saying that he HAS to toughen Jasper up so he can be a good alpha someday...what.

Was I hoping for more? Yes.
Did I like the book? Yes.
It was a funny read, very light and predictable, the romance was lacking a lot, but that's ok. I think this book wasn't write for me, more like someone in the 14~15 years old, but that's fine.

Solid plot. Nice characters. This book stands well on it's one but it also leaves enough to be desired in book 2. There are some glaring editing and proofreading mistakes, but those are easily overlooked if you don't let it bother you.
