Ian Irons

I won this Kindle book in return for an honest review. Well, here goes!

I want so badly to give it 5 stars! High-Fantasy (elves, dragons, fae, magic, etc) is my favorite reading and this story was amazing! Ian is a wonderful author, just not so wonderful an editor (sorry, Ian!). Granted, there was another book I read last year, or rather part of that book, where the whole thing was so grammatically poor that it was incredibly difficult to read, and I wound up unable to read more than several chapters (it was one of those so poorly edited that you read, re-read and yet a third time read a sentence trying to make sense of it to no avail, so I gave up trying). This book was not. This was a very VERY enjoyable story! Only where there were added words, words missing, or where the most obvious errors were did I make notes. With a proper editor, this would have easily been a 5-star review from me! I am not one who likes to give any kind of spoiler away or hint at the magic between the front and back covers of a book so I will only say this: the ending was such a surprise and leaves the reader with the knowledge that the author is penning a sequel! At least, I certainly hope so!… (más)
