Gruene (pronounced "Green" for those who don't know) is in the small town of Gruene very near New Braunfels, TX.
Besides the general store, the town is the location of Gruene Hall, billed as the oldest dance hall in Texas. Also there is Gruene Mansion Inn which is a bed and breakfast . There is also a Gruene Mansion Restaurant located on the grounds. We love to go to the general store. They have nearly everything imaginable. I haven't used the cookbook, though I imagine it's good.
