Selena is a likable caring character. When facing possible death, her only concern is how it will affect her father.
Her only hope of surviving this new world is Brandon, another person going through the same horror.

I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Book one of The Shadow Series starts with Selena Parker and her family having dinner at a restaurant when she saw a man staring at her strangely. She decided that she needed to get away from the tense dinner and excused herself to go to the ladies room, but instead she went out to the patio for some air, but the man followed her. Then next thing he said was to be aware of the shadows as they were after her. She quickly left him fearing he was totally nuts, but days later she started having nightmares about running in a forest naked and afraid!… (más)

Once UponATime is a collection of revised fairy tales that gives you an authentic view on many of the different fairy tales we know well and like. It also leads you to the author that revised the tales and gives you more insight. It is a very worthwhile reading and I enjoyed the tales very much. One of my favorites was a tale about a young girl who was looking for the love of her life who was captured by a wicked Queen.
