Two stars at most. I first read this when I was ten, and loved it. Twenty-one years later, as of this writing, I wanted to see if it still held up. It does NOT. I applaud the diverse characters in the book, the portrayal of remarried parents, and the discussions around kids whose parents have died. That's it, though. The rest of the morals and social messages in this book aged like milk! I despised Glenn in particular. I practically gagged whenever he was on the page. The writing was intended for young children, but not all the topics were. It was weird. Thankfully, this was a quick read. I wouldn't recommend it to any kids, though.… (más)
