A book on the broad theory of timber, with a chapter on how to dry it.

It's a good book, and it would be a good starter for someone who wants to understand more about timber. Especially for woodturners, rather than carpenters or joiners. But it's no more than a starter text, covering everything, and its depth is a little on the shallow side as a result.

When R Bruce Hoadley's book 'Understanding Wood' is available, wouldn't you just choose that?
