I bought this to teach myself Soranî, mainly because it was one of two Soranî course books available in English and I did not feel too confident teaching myself a language from a French book - by now I think I might have been more successful even though my command of French leaves something to desire. Interestingly, when I told a friend and fellow book owner how much I hated this book, she said "I am so happy...I thought I was too stupid to understand it properly!"

No...this book is just totally chaotic, unclear and the didactic method does not follow any known or only noticable pattern. Seeing that it is rather expensive too, a very frustrating experience. It comes with a CD, but the technical geniuses behind did not bother to make each lesson a seperate track - instead you are left with about 90 minutes of spoken text...try to find the lesson you were working on!… (más)
