Summary:
This picture book is about a military child and his father. His dad has to do a lot in order to be a good soldier, and sometimes he tries to help his dad. One day he finds out he has to move and say goodbye to all his friends. However, he learns that he can make new friends at his new home.
Personal Reaction:
I am a military child, and this is one of the books my parents used to read to me. The way the book is written and illustrated makes it more personal because it looks as though the child in the story made it himself.
Classroom Extension Ideas
1) I could have the children mimic this style into a booklet about their own parents, and what they do.
2) I could have the children bring in their parents to class one day to talk about what they do.… (más)

I loved reading this book, its actually about an airman who goes aut from his home to do his job, he has a son and wife. The author writes the story in such a way which is full of love and caring.
A little boy talks about his father's job as a Guardsman. Even though his father goes away sometimes, he knows it's because his father is off helping people and making the world a safer place.
