Sobre El Autor

Jeremy Higgins is a railwayman, reservist officer and historian. Having spent 15 years as a director of CrossCountry Trains, he is now a rail consultant. It was during Jeremy's railway employment that he was mobilised for service in Iraq and Afghanistan. His Iraq experience led him to gradually mostrar más become a First World War historian. The catalyst to Jeremy's historical immersion began on his first day of post-military service work when he spotted a railway war memorial and on impulse randomly picked a single name to research. After researching some 13,000 more individuals Jeremy's obsession became his first book - Great War Railwaymen (2014) which raised over 50,000 for The Soldiers' Charity and the Railway Benefit Fund. His interest piqued, he went on to complete a research degree at the University of Aberdeen which was the basis for this volume. With its publication Jeremy hopes to raise funds for The Soldiers' Charity. Continuing his studies at the University of Aberdeen, his current research interest is labour, railways and the First World War. mostrar menos
