I knew who each of these women were. I have read some writings on all of their deaths. This book was fascinating to me as told through their eyes. Of course it is a fictional account of their thoughts but still compelling. I am divided on whether or not the author should have stated the husband's names. It would be easier for people who may not know who they are but I really liked the focus being on the women. I found Colette's story to be the most haunting. Perhaps because Joe McGinness's book on her murder was my first true crime book. Perhaps because her children were murdered with her. I thought the author did a good job visualizing what each woman went through as well as what their thoughts would be today. I was slightly annoyed by the author stating in each story that the women didn't see it coming. I thought that was redundant the third story in. The errors in spelling were also slightly annoying but they did not detract from the storytelling. I would recommend this book.… (más)

Kathleen Hewtson lets the readers know up front that this book is a work fiction, not a be-all, end -all, definitive explanation for the end of 4 celebrities lives. Instead this is one hell of an insightful view of death from the eyes of the deceased female, whose life was stolen by one she loved.
AND she does this without saying "i am writing about so and so". She leaves it to you the reader to figure it out in, the most creative,psychologically insightful way i've ever seen.

Her words have magic , and to be honest i don't know how she does it. She so thoroughly immerses herself into each character that it's as if she tilts her head, takes a look, and gives us all a nod-yer-head, fresh aspect. Each woman emerges with a full personality whether it be charming brash sophisticated, it doesn't matter.
