This book is worth its weight in gold, yes, even at today's gold price. Plenty of recipes for herbal household remedies, all from easy-to-acquire ingredients. Well ordered according to ingredients with a table of symptoms to find what you need quickly. Highly recommended!

From book: Man must look to the lesser creations of God in order to appreciate the true value of medicinal plants.......One day while the author was strolling with his pet, he noticed the animal go to some nearby plants and begn eating the leaves from the same. This greatly surprised him, and in his teenage ignorance, he thought this would harm the dog, and therefore made some judicious efforts to drag his canine friend away from what he then considered to be bad. However, repeated returns by the dog to his original place of eating, convienced his owner that either the animal must have been "nuts" or very hungry. To the untrained eye of a mere youth, it seemed most unnatural for a carnivouous beast to suddenly turn and feed upon vegetation. Yet, in those peculiar circumstances, the animal was merely resorting to what natural instincts had trained him to do--go to Nature for his medicine. Suffice to say, in a very short time his pet improved and the author was a llittle wiser from what this type of intelligence had taught him.

From book: Ever since legitimate medical science has been in existence, so have herbs also existed. However, the latter is by far the older of the two means of healing and natural healing methods involving the use of plants have found more pupularity among the common masses and enjoyed a greater reliability than chemical medicine has, and for a longer period of time. The reason this condition is a matter of history can best be expressed in this well-known fact: nearly every doctor interprets differently the conditon of symptoms and treatment of illness. What one may diagnose as the common cold another may feel inclined to call "a severe case of complicated infection." And their methods of remedying the ill often can be quite drastic and far apart, depending upon the time and age in which the incident of medical action takes place.
