This is a short story and is easy to read in one evening (day).

Matt loves to ride his bicycle every day. His legs are strong and he rides everywhere. His mom tells him one day to ride to visit his grandmother. There at Grandma's, he has lunch with her and describes her as a "pixie." At the end of the visit she gives him a stone and he puts it in his saddlebag on the bike.

Riding home, with the stone, he gets lost and finds himself at a busy street with futuristic cars. He waves to another biker who has his pants tucked into his boots. Matt finds his way home. He loses interest in biking, goes to school and to America. When he finds out his father dies, he heads back to England. There with his mother, he finds his bike still with the saddlebag and stone. He takes a ride, after tucking his pants, along a busy highway. With the glow of the stone.....

I really like this short story. The characters are real and the scenery beautiful. It was worth the ride on this story.

I won this story on a LibraryThing giveaway.
