Young Reader Reaction: Our daughter immediately got into the story. She though Polar Bear's grumpiness was funny, oohed and aah-ed with their friendship; and was sad at the end.

Adult Reader Reaction: This is a sweet story. It is based on a true story, and I accepted the "talking" bears because it added emotion to the story. But it bothered me when the author talked about the "red and green popsicles" the bears had for bedtime snack.
