Told between alternating chapters of Now and Then, this is a really great way to pass a weekend in the sun, well away from the grey misery of the setting of the book and the sense of unease that creeps over you whilst reading parts of this book!

There isn’t a great deal I feel I can add to about the book’s description as the blurb has that pretty well covered and I would hate to drop a spoiler in there, and trust me, there are quite a few. Especially in the latter half of the book!

It definitely changed into something completely unexpected from where I thought it was heading. And as for the twists, well it certainly throws a good few of those at you! You may think you’ve worked out some, and it’s probable you might get one, or two if you’re as devious as the author, but as for the others - No chance!

Even the ending will throw you a curve ball!

I will be honest, I didn’t think I would end up enjoying this book as much as I did. For me personally the middle lost a bit of traction, but by god, once it picked up the pace again it stepped up several gears, genuinely sucking me in as it galloped along, not letting you off the ride until the last page was turned!

I can definitely see why it’s received so many glowing five star reviews and mine will be another one added to that growing list!

The Victim was published on the 16 May 2023 so grab yourself a copy now, you certainly won’t regret it! It is even available to read for free with Kindle Unlimited or just £0.99 on Kindle.

Social media queen

Wow this book was really good, Heather is an interior designer and she posts everything on social media, from everything she's doing client wise, and pictures from what she is doing with her clients to what she is having for breakfast. Her life seems to be perfect. But everything is never as it seems is it? Happy reading everyone 😉

Just One Lie is about how one lie can turn your whole life upside down. We follow Alison who is still dealing with the death of her infant daughter and trying to run a business. But Alison is hiding something and that something will ruin everything for her but someone knows and they will do whatever it takes to reveal the truth. The story is slow burn that builds as the story develops. There was a few times I was confused about who's point of view I was reading but for the most part it was a good read and a few twists that lead to a great ending!

Thank you Zooloos Book Tours and Ruth Harrow for sharing this book with me!

Having to return home for her sister’s funeral, Hannah does not expect the past to come back and haunt her. Unfortunately that is exactly what it does and in ways she could not expect. On top of dealing with her sister’s suicide, she isn’t prepared to deal with her involvement in the disappearance of a girl when she was a teenager.

Did her sister really commit suicide? That is one of the questions that has to be answered in order to clear up the past. But does Hannah really want to bring up the past? That would be a big no. There is someone who disagree with Hannah.

Years ago an 11-year-old girl went missing from the town where Hannah, her sister, and her husband Will grew up. As odd things begin to happen, Hannah realizes the truth must come out in order to save herself and her child. Just who is responsible for the things happening? The missing girl was never found so maybe she is still alive. It’s just one of many questions in this book.

I enjoyed this book but there were certainly times that I felt myself getting bored. Overall, this was a good story but I feel so lovely events were a bit drawn out and could’ve been shortened without losing anything pertinent to the story. I struggled with this review only because I feel like there was so much in this book and it was hard to pull out the most important parts of the plot. 3.5 rounded up.

Thank you to BookSirens for providing an e-copy of this book for my voluntary review.
