The photographs for this souvenir booklet seem carefully selected. They include not only architectural work, other features, and even a manuscript. Although history is included, particularly in relation to its role in monasticism, the work focuses on those features tourists will find most appealing. Most photographs are black and white, which was common at the time because color processes were not as fully developed.
