Love You Gone is a gripping thriller that I could not stop listening to. It is the story of a young widower Lucas who remarries too quickly after his first wife's death. His new wife Mel seems to be everything he wants and needs for him and his two children. She is a successful business owner who seems to have it all together. But does she really. Things are starting to fray at the edges of their marriage and so when Lucas suggests a country getaway at a cottage in Scotland Mel agrees to meet her new family there after a work weekend. But when she arrives at the cottage no one is there. Lights are on, clothes and toys are strewn about, but where is her family. Lots of twists and turn ensue about where Lucas and his children might have ended up. Great story telling and I can seriously recommend this book for mysterious/thriller fun.…

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a digital advanced reader copy of this book. The opinions expressed below are my own and were not requested or required.

Steph is newly single and fighting with her soon to be ex-husband. In order to make some extra money, she decides to take in a renter for her spare bedroom. Events develop to make Steph realize she isn't safe on her own.

I feel like this took a little too long to get into. Setting up the background reveals that Steph's son, Max, left 10 years ago and hasn't been heard from since. She seems too focused on Max but can't seem to figure out a way to find him. The part that bothered me is that the problem between Max and the family isn't addressed as to what the cause was until the end.

I figured out who was behind the problems and pretty much everything that was done. This was predictable for me, and I usually don't say that.
