A very good summary of what we know and what some have speculated about early man. The authors are a professor of archeology at Tel Aviv University and a screenwriter with a master's degree in archeology and most of the book is based on findings in Israel. The book is written in a relaxed relatively non-technical style, but it presents appropriate references within the text and discusses alternative theories about the origin of social structures, the significance of cave art, the origins of religion, and the possible early histories of our species in the Levant.
