The book has heaps of other information on papal history, and much detail about the procedure for electing a Pope. Visit--2015 A Guide for the Curious, by Anura Guruge (read 3 Sep 2015) This is a very readable book designed for those interested in knowing more about Pope Francis' upcoming trip to the U.S. It includes the itinerary for the trip, to the extent presently known, together with educated guesses as to some of the detail concerning the trip. tt also has comments on Pope Francis' life to date, and a lively discussion of Catholicism in the U.S. All these comments will be found to be energetic and enlightening. There is also a chapter entitled "Trying to Read Pope Francis" which comments on things which the Pope has said, and some of the comments are somewhat critical. The reader will have to judge as to how to assess these comments. The discussion on American Cardinals is of interest and the author does not hesitate to assess some of the Pope's action during his time as Pope. There is a carefully drawn list of the Popes with interesting detail which we have come to expect in the author's books. This is the sixth book of his I have read and as always it is easy to read and full of insight..… (más)

Reading the book is an easy way to soak up fascinating information about Popes. There are separate chapters on Pope Celestine V and Pope Francis. An added feature is a carefully compiled list of Popes in chronological order. I dare say that even the most avid student of papal history will learn from this book things he did not know but will appreciate knowing.… (más)
