This was the story of Australia's Delta Company during the Vietnam War (1966). The Battle of Long Tan was one of the most significant battles fought by the Aussies. This book was written by the author with stories by various commanders: helicopter (author), gunners, communications, etc. This was a great effort and homage should be paid to those both alive and those who did not make it. The afterword sounds a lot like America in that those that served were not/are not given the recognition they deserved. The only downside, as in war non-fictions, for me, is the constant references to divisions, squadrons, armies, companies, etc. I really don't know the difference and it is too disruptive to the story (for me) to look up what the differences are. 326 pages This has been on my shelf for at least 15 years.… (más)
