The books its a little sad for me the boy goes in a quest to get rid of all the things that makes him sad at the point he has make put himself in a dark room and at the end he realizes that he has gotten rid of all the things that make his life happy. He comes out of the room and enjoys the things that make him happy again.

A little boy didn't want to be sad so he got rid of anything that could potentially make him sad and then realizing those things also made him happy, he got them back.
