Last Things: Emily Brontë's Poems por Janet Gezari
This book is for me a continuing, ongoing read. To get the most out of it, I suggest that you read in parallel Gezari's edition of Emily's Complete Poems, which is a substantial modernization of the now three-quarter century old Hatfield edition.
Wuthering Heights is obviously a 5***** rating for me. (Consider my LT name!) I'll also give the Belknap Press annotated edition (ISBN 0674724690) 5***** for the sake of its annotations as well as its "coffee-table book" quality of illustrations, although the Norton Critical Edition may be preferred for its supplementary materials.
This Belknap Press annotated edition is also of interest for its consideration of Emily's poetry in some of the annotations, and note that Janet Gezari has edited a Penguin edition of Emily's poetry that's more current than the 1940 Hatfield edition. Gezari is also the author of Last Things: Emily Bronte's Poems, an overall critical analysis of the poetry combined with some explications des textes.… (más)
