A book that covers the films, the comics and the merchandising of Mickey Mouse, and covers it very well, with a great deal of detail, and a wealth of illustrations that introduces material likely not to have been seen before by many. Well worth it, even if you're not a Disney fan, as such. Note that this edition is slightly revised from the physically larger edition, and does not have all of the chapters.

Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse: The Ultimate History

Pros: A gorgeous book that shows the development of Mickey Mouse and explains his appeal to generations of fans. Con: The book ignores Mickey’s postwar shorts and provides too much information on his comic strips. Overall: A fun book that should delight Mickey’s fans.
