-book is for children who are nervous about starting school.
-puts a science fiction spin on starting kindergarten where the protagonist imagines himself travelling to an alien kindergarten planet.
-there is only a small amount of text on each page and the sentences are relatively simple.

Blast off as you head out for adventures on Planet Kindergarden, and the come back to home base...

Perfect for any child that has graduated preschool and is moving on to Kindergarden. My Son and I enjoyed reading this book together. He is very excited but, also nervous about Kindergarten. I hoped that this book helped alleviate those fears. This is a must read for any child entering Kindergarden! One of the best kids books I have come across this year.

This story is about a kindergartener who views his first day of kindergarten as a space mission. All of the details from a regular school day are described in intergalactic terms.

This book takes a little boy through his first day of kindergarten on "Planet Kindergarten. I gave this book 3 stars because children might have trouble following along the book. Text placement is difficult to follow and the start of the story is a tad confusing. The overall message of the story is that Kimdergarten might be scary at first but once you are there, you will learn! There are many lessons learned throughout the story of what to do and not to do. For example, at one point the main character was placed in time out for doing something he should not have been doing. This book teaches students getting ready for kindergarten some of the main rules that will apply in the classroom. This is conveyed through pictures and text throughout. The pictures allow you to see the important lessons he learns throughout his first day in Kindergarten.

"Planet Kindergarten" is about a boy who is about to start Kindergarten. It goes through his day but uses "space language" to make it a super fun read. This book would be great for children entering Kindergarten.

This book is about students in space in a kindergarten classroom, and we follow along with one little boy narrating the events of the 100th day as well as what they have learned so far. This is a great science fiction book because it uses elements of the real world; being the kindergarten classroom, but puts it in a space classroom, with "alien" students, giving it an "out of this world" setting.
Genre: Science Fiction (my choice)
Illustrations: Digitally made on the computer
Age Appropriateness: Primary

This book takes the reader on a journey along side a little boy who is going to kindergarten for the first time. He approaches kindergarten like a mission to another planet where he has to balance the obstacles that are thrown his way. In my opinion this is fantasy because the little boy experiences kindergarten like he is an astronaut, where kindergarten is not actually another planet in real life. The age in which I would use this is kindergarten. One could use it in other primary grades, but it is best suited for kindergarten. A use for this book is to use it to explain to kids what going to school for the first time looks like. The little boy discovers many things about kindergarten using space terms, but one could tell the kids how these things actually work in their classroom.

This clever picture book will prepare young explorers to boldly go where they have never gone before: Planet Kindergarten. Suit up for a daring adventure as our hero navigates the unknown reaches and alien inhabitants of this strange new world. Hilarious and confidence-boosting, this exciting story will have new kindergarteners ready for liftoff!

Picture book/comic about a boy named Kevin who loves super heroes. Kevin finds out that he has diabetes and feels like his dreams of being a super hero are shattered. Then a doctor tells kevin that he has super powers that allows him to help other kids with diabetes. I think this is a great book for kids to read, especially one's who have diabetes, because it shows kids who to deal with adversity positively.

What a touching book! My daughter, Jade, at the age of 4-years-old had a reaction to tree nuts. We found out in May, 2012 when she went into anaphylaxis within minutes of eating a piece of walnut. We never heard the seriousness of food allergies, sure we have heard of “food allergy” but I never knew the in and outs of this dangerous disability.
Did you know that there are millions with food allergies, and the number seems to rise daily. No one understands why, and research is still going to figure out how to stop this epidemic.
I absolutely love that Sue got to re-create Princes and the Pea to help bring awareness to food allergies, instead of the pea it is a peanut. When a prince loses hope of finding his perfect princess, a princess appears on his doorstep looking for shelter from the storm. To test to see if the princess is indeed real, the queen places a peanut between the princess’ tower of mattresses. But this princess doesn’t have trouble sleeping, instead she awakens to an allergic reaction!
The Princess and the Peanut reflects what children today are dealing with and also supports children, like Jade, who have allergies. Within the book is a food allergy guide for adults, and kid-friendly allergy definitions.
I absolutely fell in love with the book before I had a chance to read it to my daughter. Yeah, yeah, I know you are not suppose to “fall for the cover” but the illustrations are delightfully phenomenal!
