Elizabeth Frykberg

I read a review of this book and thought it would be good reflective/meditation/devotional summer reading...and so it was. But it is much more than a devotional reading, it is both descriptive and prescriptive of what the Christian life is about. The author, Elizabeth Frykberg, sees Christian faith as a 7-fold "fractal"- when the whole has the same shape as the parts. She sees the 7-fold pattern of faith as hearing, entering (following) into community, (growing) desire to (know and) do the will of God; being humbled in faith; (receiving God's) grace (in a conscious way); empowerment by the Holy Spirit; and being sent - going out - as disciple/apostle to share and serve, and presents some powerful and beautiful examples of all she writes about. This book has been clarifying and enriching. Highly recommended.… (más)
