Portions of this book can be used to support a unit on Louisiana's history. Most interesting was the brief biography of Huey P. Long. As an interesting anecdote to read during class or during homework, chapters from this book could be used in pieces. But over-all, it is too dry to be of much use by itself. It does contain a bibliography at the end, but since individual chapters are not noted or cited, it could be confusing to use as a resource.
