This book has 3 main things wrong with it:

1) It repeats "I, Joshua's mother" over and over, implying that fathers don't change diapers or help with toilet training.

2) It uses cutesy language: "make a Wee-Wee" instead of "pee", "pee-pee" instead of "penis".

3) It shows toilet training as being finished when the kid pees and poops in the potty once, but the kid also needs to be able to reliably tell when they need to head toward the potty

Won in a Goodreads Giveaway in exchange for a review.

I am not quite sure how I feel about the style; sometimes it was a bit annoying, the repetition frustrating. However, it did feel as if it was written by a younger person, which I think Frankel intended. I did fully enjoy the content of the story and the perspective of a young survivor. I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants a firsthand account of hiding during the Holocaust.

Part of my attempt to encourage proper use of the "bathroom toybox" (better known as the potty). This is a sweet story told from the point of view of Prudence's mom about Prudence's potty training and use of the potty. Much of this story made me and my partner laugh out loud because these were events that we have already encountered.

This will be a book we borrow from the library time and again before the big potty training step is over!

This book was an X-mas gift from a family member when I was only like 3 months pregnant, and I thought it was a weird gift. I was unaware how important it would one day be!
I moved across the country with my boy shortly before he was potty-trainable. I misplaced the book and ended up not having it when I needed it. After I had decided that potty-training my child was the hardest thing in the world since labor, I got my hands on the book again. And that's the end of the story!!! My son read the book with me, loved it, and decided to be just like "Joshua" who learned to go Potty! I also borrowed the video version of the story from the library and the room full of babies singing the potty song helped him become even more excited about going potty like a big kid. Thanks to this book, the ordeal of potty training was brought to a much-needed end.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The book is essentially about learning how to use a potty. The girl learns a bit about her body. Finally she learned about popping.

This story was relevant for me since I plan to teach pre-k! There is a boy and girl version available, which is ideal. Helps a child learn to use the potty and helps the parent potty train the young child. This helps the child gain a confidence in this matter! Suggestions for a student who may have issues with this.

We purchased this book to help our 18 month old to learn how to potty. It is excellent and sturdy. It is highly recommended.

When I was little I *loved* this book. Mom used it while potty-training me, and though I don't remember that exactly, I remember loving the book itself. When I got a little bigger I delighted in showing all my friends "that funny potty book". It's cute, simple, and classic!

The story is kind of, well, not the best, BUT the pictures are great and make it easy for the children to relate.

Ali at 15 months wants to hear this book over and over again. We haven't started potty training her yet... But now she is familiar with the concept. She likes to point to the "stinkies" in the diaper, and she knows what a potty is. It's also great that the name of the child in the story is "Prudence".
