Joy Francis (1) (1888–1978)

Entertaining, funny and easy to read. Don't think I'd reread it though, so I'm hoping someone else wants it.

One thing struck me as rather odd - heroine (14) has little sister (5) in same dormitory so she can take care of her. A) 5?! Really, 5? What were their parents thinking? and B) Surely school wouldn't put a 5 yo in with a bunch of 14 yos? She's in their dormitory and common room almost constantly. Wouldn't there be staff and other kids for her to be with rather than being foisted onto her sister and sister's friends constantly? The book mentions there being a kindergarten/ class of 'babies' within the school. They can't be much older than 5, why isn't she with them? I'm baffled.… (más)
