Aldo Fraccaroli (1919–2010)

Aldo Fraccaroli was a very competent compiler of these two handbooks on the Italian navy, for World War I as well as this World War two volume. His research is extremely competent and this book is an excellent companion to Marcantonio Bragadin's history of the Italian Navy in WWII. There are many photographs, and the appendices are very useful. Sadly there are no deck plans or line drawings.

Mr. Fraccaroli, has always held my respect as being the handbook maker with the hardihood to include both trials speed and the highest speed obtained under battle conditions, and the length of the main gun barrels . This effort has copious photographs, and very good ship histories. There is also an appendix with further informations about the weapons employed by this other "Royal Navy."
