I read this book because my bookworm boyfriend bugged me to read it. To please him, I tried. More than anything else, I thought it was informative. I learned about the Catholic Church in Africa, their power and what the Africans had to do to survive efforts to eradicate their culture. I learned that a dictator riding a tiger of illegitimate power, afraid to get off out of fear he’ll be killed, is more than another saying. I found out how the Sate Department, unable to notify the same dictator that they will no longer support him uses the race card instead of telling him to his face. I heard that love is the most misguided gene in the human genome. I found out about Notre Dame of Paris and the anti-Jewish statue around which the church was built. This book was written, it seems, for someone looking for something to read on a plane. Then the author added lots of serious, interesting information, plots and turns. An A book in my opinion, I recommend it.… (más)
