I picked this book up on a whim and it turned out great! I'm a fan of true crime, but I feel that a lot of books get too sensationalist. I want to know the background and follow the investigation, not get caught up in all the lurid details. This book definitely delivered on that, because even with the nefarious goings on, the book kept pretty much to the facts and not supposition.

The reason it's a 4 star book and not a 5 is that the writing could get confusing and there were several times when I had to go back a few sentences/paragraphs and reread in order to parse together what was going on. It didn't detract immensely from my enjoyment of the book, but it did distract me a bit.
