Eustathios of Thessaloniki : The capture of… por Archbishop of Thessalonica. Eustathius
In 1185 CE, an expeditionary force from the Norman kingdom of Sicily descended on the second City of the Byzantine state and sacked it. The city's bishop produced this memoir of the act. In style it's very mannered with a great emphasis on showing off the learning of the Author. The footnotes are more valuable than the text on this one. Probably written in 1186.
