This book is just what it says on the tin - fundamentals, theory and design. The maths is extensive but not difficult: roughly O-level/GCSE rather than university level. It is quite well laid out, explained and written. It covers (among other things) transmission topologies, motors, batteries, controllers and fuel cells. The first section (essentially generalised tree-hugging) is a bit of an abberration and may irritate those (like me) who are uncertain about anthropogenic global warming
