1399 The Anglican Eucharist in Ecumenical Perspective: Doctrine and Rite from Cranmer to Seabury, by Edward P. Echlin, S.J. (read 2 Aug 1976) This is a specialized study on Anglican changes in the Communion service and ends up concluding Anglicans and Catholics are not too far apart. I was somewhat out of my depth in reading this, but it had some value and was of interest. The author concludes Transubstantiation is the hang-up for Protestants but that this does not mean what they think it means, or at least should not prevent unity.½
