(fonte: Google Books)

4464. The Dyess Story The Eye-Witness Account of the Death March From Bataan and the Narrative of Experiences in Japanese Prison Camps and of Eventual Escape, by Lt. Col. Wm. E. Dyess Edited, with a biographical introduction, by Charles Leavelle (read 27 Jul 2008) This book was published in 1944 and so omits some details about the escape from the Japanese prison camp on Mindanao, but even so the story of the escape is filled with interest and inspires much admiration for the heroic Dyess--who died Dec 22, 1943, before the book was published. The account of the Bataan Death March is one of the earliest accounts thereof and is brutal and sickening ro read.
