I actually won this book as part of a Goodreads giveaway, which I am grateful for.

However, the vast array of weirdness that - to me, and all of my opinions of this book are naturally subjective - envelops this book is just too much for me. I'm no stranger to experimental, other and new ways of thinking, but this should have been rewritten, edited and generally reined in much more; an editor was definitely needed.

I don't hate this book. It's got some things going for it, in terms of being experimental; it's a tool for trying to better yourself and doing good things, which is naturally good and loving, but where it falls flat are, among other things, when it contains texts that have been repeated throughout the book for no apparent reason (other than bad editing being the case), no references wherever are used when quasi-scientific claims or just plain nonsense is stated as fact.

The book is too experimental for its own good - I can't see somebody using it to feel better while feeling bad - and it's got some weird anti-feministic bits and a very strange references to Africans thrown in.

I've actually taken some pictures from the book to display what my thoughts were at the time of reading the book, and they're all available here through Storify: https://storify.com/pivic/att-lasa-eva-dillners-v-ga-leva

READ IN ENGLISH

I received a copy for free via First Reads on GR

Unfortunately, it didn't work for me at all. I have to conclude this is not my kind of book.

I received this book as part of a Goodreads Giveaway. I am still very thankful for being chosen, but unfortunately my review is not a positive one.

This book is about self-discovery, and a description of social organization. Eva tells us early on that she is including ideas that may seem uncomfortable to some, and not traditional. She includes her own experiences during her career and life time as a method of proving her points about her own personal point of view of the connections between people.

I didn't feel this book was written for me. I found it difficult to read through, and comprehend. The book was written well, but I found the spiritual aspects of the book distracting. Eva included information about her job before picking up writing full time and this also detracted from her point.

I'm sure this book would be phenomenal in the right hands, though.

I love memoirs and I tried so hard to find something to love about this book. I couldn't make it very far though. I found myself preoccupied by the grammatical errors, etc and just couldn't get through it. I admire anyone that has the courage to put out the personal details of their life out there for everyone to read, but in doing so, one should definitely make sure they have a professional editor - or at the very least just someone to read it over and correct basic errors!
