This book has a noirish quality to it. Based very loosely on the trunk murderess, Winnie Ruth Judd, it is set in Arizonia in the 1930's. The author's writing draws you into the story and really makes you feel for the main character, Pearl Tild. Pearl, who moves around a lot with her sleazy, creepy husband to stay one step ahead of his creditors, suspects he is having an affair with a hospital coworker. The woman, Clare, is running from her own demons. What Pearl finds out about herself and her husband is not what she expects. Some sexual situations.… (más)
