Casey Courtright didn't think being a guardian of twin boys would immediately make him their de facto dad. Ember Reed didn't realize searching for family's land to set up a therapy center would lead to romance. This was a unique story with troubling consequences for both main characters. The emotions for Casey and Ember was difficult to understand based on the context but it was a pleasant read.

Devin Cole battled addiction to pain killers and caused him to abandon his wife, Lacey Jenkins, who is unknowingly pregnant with his twins. Together, they need to find out if their marriage is able to withstand their trust issues. The idea of negotiating a new marriage and impending twin birth is daunting to say the least. The author does a great job of unpacking all the reasons why this relationship should and shouldn't work and keeping you rooting for their faith and love to win out.

This was a pretty good book for this type. I loved little blond curly haired Alice as she came out of her shell. The ending was pretty predictable, but that was okay.½

I enjoyed this one so much. Garrett is a lawyer and rancher who finds an abandoned newborn on his porch with papers naming him the guardian. Abby is working temporarily as a social worker, taking time off from her disaster relief work. She’s new to town and she’s working in Garrett’s office. Abby helps Garrett with baby Charlotte since he seems completely lost as to what to do. The two become attracted to each other and their romance is very sweet. I loved the small-town setting of the story. The whole cast of characters were extremely likable and relatable. And Abby’s therapy dog, Elvis, was a darling. Such a lovely story.

The Family Blessings books from Stephanie Dees contain stories of unconventional families and sweet, sweet romance. I had a lot of fun getting to know these lovable characters, their fears and dreams, their quirks and strengths, all in a small-town setting. Each one has challenges to overcome, but they never have to do so alone.

In The Dad Next Door, Joe Sheehan unexpectedly learns he’s the father to a twelve-year-old girl, while Claire Conley renovates an inherited mansion to host foster children. Together, they explore ideas of home, belonging, and finding healing for the hurts of the past.

In A Baby for the Doctor, Jordan Conley becomes a foster mother for an adorable but hurt little boy, while Ash Sheehan uses his doctoring skills to help her out. Their story helps them to learn to trust, love, and take a risk or two.

In Their Secret Baby Bond, Wynn Sheehan and Latham Grant reunite when she returns to Red Hill Springs pregnant and ashamed. He needs help with his grandfather, and she needs help renovating a cottage. The more time they spend together, the more they begin to see how dreams can change for the better.

In The Marriage Bargain, Jules Sheehan is willing to do anything for two sweet girls in her care—including proposing a marriage of convenience to their uncle, Cameron Quinn. For the plan to be a success, the pair must set aside their ideas of perfection and let go of the past.

All in all, the Family Blessings series is a highly enjoyable set of books to read. With family, romance, and a lot of fun, they’re easy to recommend.

Competent and confident Jules Sheehan has it all together. But when her best friend loses her life and Jules becomes the caregiver to two little girls, her careful control begins to shift. Then, the girls’ uncle shows up at her door and the threat of a custody battle with the girls’ grandmother drives her to desperation.
Cameron Quinn left Red Hill Springs intent on never looking back but he cannot let his sister’s children live a life like he had. When Jules proposes a marriage of convenience, he agrees.
Despite the chaos of becoming instant parents and running a business, the friendship formed between Jules and Cameron in both the quiet and messy moments of life are what waters the seeds of their relationship. If Jules can put her fear of failure aside and Cameron can release the past to grab hold of the future, the two of them just might realize they’re stronger together than apart.
Stephanie Dees’s Family Blessing series finale is another book overflowing with friends, family, faith, and friendship.

Stephanie Dees continues to deliver stories of faith, family, and second chances in book three of the Family Blessings series.

Wynn Sheehan left Red Hill Springs as soon as she graduated high school with a plan to change the world. Now she’s returned with a big secret, discouraged and ashamed that the world changed her.

Latham Grant’s life hasn’t gone as planned, but he has no regrets for the choices he made. But now, the woman that got away has moved back to Alabama. Latham is a quiet, persistent hero, a man who holds family close. Wynn is wounded and floundering but she finds an anchor in Latham.

With a community that surprise Wynn with their acceptance and welcome instead of the distain she’s expecting, a family that supports her, a group of foster kids that challenge her, and a man who loves her without reservation, Wynn discovers that changing the world begins within and can happen wherever you are, one person at a time.

Here's my review:

"The Dad Next Door" is a love inspired novel about taking risks and finding love.

Claire has inherited an old rundown farm from her estranged father in an inheritance. As she starts her quest to transform this land to a foster home rehab; she finds herself falling for hot cop Joe.

Joe has his own set of issues. While recovering from being shot in the line of duty, his estranged twelve year old is dropped on his and his mother's doorstep and wants nothing to do with him.

Meeting Claire changes everything, his daughter opens up, life is moving well until the town comes to arms to stop the foster home. Will Claire's dreams be crushed before they even begin? How will Joe and Claire grow closer, will they find true love?

Even though this isn't my usual cup of tea, I find myself drawn to it more and more. Overall I find myself giving this novel five stars! The writing flows effortlessly and there's twists and turns along the way to keep you engaged. It leaves you wanting more whenever you have to part with it, but I think the ending wrapped things up with a nice little bow.

Thank you Ms. Dees for re-introduction me to a genre I long so forgot.

"This review is done on my own accord, I received the book for a free honest review and am no way obligated to give it high ratings."

A love story of all time! Pulls at your heartstrings every step of the way.
We meet Jordan, Claire's twin sister, from "The Dad Next Door" (I recommend reading that book first so you understand what's going on and how Jordan came to be living the life she's living.
When we meet Jordan's new foster son Levi, he's in dire straits and in need of constant medical care and such supportive love. At the same time Jordan is raising Levi she finds herself attracted to Ash, Joe's brother (again from "The Dad Next Door"). Ash is the town doctor and the self declared "ladies man, forever bachelor". Jordan swears there's nothing between them and never will be, she's boots, flannel, and jeans, where he's khakis, bow ties, and loafers. This is a match that is sure not to work out!
Jordan tries to bury her feelings aside and devote herself to her charge, Levi, but is this truly what her heart wants? Is this truly what God has planned for her?
Ash finds himself struggling with feelings of his own for this woman he never thought he'd care for in such a way, especially after some difficult times in his past. He tries his hardest like Jordan to hide his feelings and deny that this is what his heart wants.
Will Jordan and Ash finally get together? Will they be happy as a family of three? Will Levi finally have two true loving parents?
You'll have to read "A Baby for the Doctor" to find out all the answers to these burning questions and more!

Review: I’m loving Stephanie Dees books! Thank you Love Inspired for being on board with such a wholesome and beautiful writer!

“Their Secret Baby Bond” is following another of the Sheehan siblings, this time one of the young ladies, Wynn.

Wynn is a real go-getter, in high school or even middle school she knew she wanted and could take on the world! She went to college then law school and found herself working with a Senator. Wow that’s a great accomplishment for a small town girl!

Now she finds herself back home, in Red Hill Springs, feeling jilted and disgraced. She’s concerned a lot of peoples judgement when she reveals her secret that led her to come home. She finds comfort in the support of her high school crush Latham Grant. Everything is working against them and they don’t want to share that they love each other with each other for fear of heavy heart break and Wynn doesn’t feel right about dragging him into her very complicated predicament.

So what will come of Wynn and being back to her roots? What will happen with her and Latham, are they meant to be after all?

This story flows effortlessly and beautifully just as the other two books following the guys of the Sheehan family. Stephanie Dees really knows how to tug at your heartstrings while also keeping you wanting more. I highly recommend this to anyone that wants a wholesome, faith based romance!

My rating is: 5/5

The first book in this series showed the heart behind Red Hill Farms and fostering children while this one, the second, shows the hands and feet. There’s and abundance of heart (and heartache) in this story too.

While the foster kids (on in particular who we will get to in a few seconds) steal the show in A Baby for the Doctor, Jordan’s soft heart toward hurting children is apparent throughout. It’s that heart that draws Ash Sheehan to her in the first place.

As a pediatrician, Ash himself has a fantastic connection with the children of Red Hill Springs. And he has his own difficult childhood that gives him empathy for injured and ill little ones.

The attraction bubbles under the surface for this entire book but it’s little Levi that makes this a five star read. His situation broke my heart and as Jordan loves this little boy and he slowly begins to trust her, a beautiful picture of God’s love for us is formed. He’s always there, watching over us, waiting for us to trust Him enough to fall into His arms and plans, to run to Him when we’re scared, hurting, or lost.

Stephanie Dees’ ability to draw that connection is spot-on in this book and if you missed it, you should definitely make room for it on your to-read list.

4.5 Stars

Have you ever read the first book in a series and loved the characters so much, you immediately check to see who will star in the other books in the series? Well, that’s exactly how I felt after reading Stephanie Dees’ Dad Next Door (book one in the Family Blessings series).

There is so much to say about this book, the longing for a place to call home, the discovery that family comes in all shapes, sizes, and configurations, that small towns have prejudices that newcomers often have to overcome, that building trust takes time, and more. Dees addresses each of these (and more) in a cohesive way that draws the reader in and invites them within the circle of community she’s created.

Joe Sheehan and Claire Conley find common ground in their childhood and both still struggle with finding a place they belong. Add in a twelve-year-old daughter who Joe wasn’t aware he had until recently, and the cycle repeats itself. But the hope of that being broken with Claire’s dream of a home where foster children can find love and belonging shines throughout this story.

And the best news? There are three more books in the series so I get to spend more time with the people of Red Hill Springs.
