With a slow start and a cool welcome from team, it begins with a hot summer and multiple grassfires but one. That one looks deliberate and has a murder victim who was locked in from the outside. There are many things going on with many of the characters that add to the wicked twists until the surprise twist at the end. Riveting.

Told from three perspectives, but it really works and drew me in.
DS Sara has relocated from London and joined a new detail oriented team in Norfolk near the seal colonies guarded by the RSPCA and the local coast Guard.
Danni who works for a nasty woman in the criminal world who all come to Norfolk.
Mu(riel) and her loving old dog Roger who have been living on the streets for too many years for her young years and they seem to be quietly caught near the center.
Just before Christmas it all goes messy with a couple of murders near the derelict WW2 gun emplacements at the water's edge.

The first murder was unusual in how the body was displayed for discovery.
The story is told from police perspective and also by the murderer in an unusual way that works only because of this writer's particular skills. It really is riveting, but I don't want to do spoilers.
