I cannot for the life of me remember this book, but I can say that Tymber Dalton does write good stories for Siren. I just remember it was about three wolf shifters who met their "one and only" true mate in the previous book. I can't recall what this one was about, except I am guessing the Alpha of the little pack has run off for "reasons" and the heroine has decided to go look for him.

Yeah, I can't remember, but I gave it 4 stars so it couldn't be that bad.

Waffling between 3-4 stars out of 5.

This book felt extremely emotional and fully drew me in. Mark and Dale had a beautiful relationship that I completely believed. However.

There are so many things about this one that I have a hard time wrapping my head around. Don't misunderstand, I have no problem with the kink or D/s vibes. My problem is the whole "pet" thing. The dynamic shifted weirdly between D/s master-slave sort of thing, and an actual family pet dog. I fully noped out when the author included a note at the end about the book being a tribute to her family pets. If you extrapolate to the story, it becomes about these aliens fucking and breeding their pet dogs. That being said, I think if you ignore the last couple chapters of the book, you can blissfully ignore the weird dog dynamic and enjoy a more D/s vibe instead.

Continuing on with the weird vibes. Why insist that three of the four human characters are actually straight? Obviously they have no problem with m/m sex and romance, as each of them fall in love with several other men. They even have a chance to leave this situation, but all choose to stay with the men they love. I completely understand and agree with their choice, but why still insist that they're actually straight men who just chose to enjoy the pleasure they've been provided with? Is this some sort of "turning straight men gay" kink that the author has? I guess I kinda get it, but also sexuality is such a personal and imperative thing. What if you were an earnestly gay or straight person, but someone insisted that you have sex with and fall in love with someone opposite your preference. You would feel uncomfortable, wouldn't you? This is your world, author. Just make everybody bisexual!!

All in all, this book was very enjoyable, with some pretty awesome steam. However, I had to keep performing Olympic-level mental gymnastics to work around some of the squicky vibes. And I haven't even gotten into some of the plot issues. Proceed with caution.

This was an elaborately, convoluted, confusing slog. It was boring, too long, and repetitive. The contracts and laws... I give the author points for creativity, but this could have benefited from more editing and definitely shortening. The narration was not good. I finished the book only because I had gotten so far in that I became invested and wanted to know how it all played out. There were some parts that were good, but overall, I did not truly enjoy this.

Travis is working two jobs just to pay his rent and keep his car on the road now that his father has cut him off. He's bussing a table when he sees a business card from a company looking for male models. Travis calls the number and before you know it he is Craig Rocke doing gay porn for pay. Marston Cougar is a well known porn star working to pay for heart operations for his niece. Travis is nervous about bottoming but Marston helps him out by telling him to remember that it's all make- believe. A college student and a college professor in real life and a porn couple in fantasy films but the lines are beginning to blur.
I thoroughly enjoyed this well written romance between Gary and Travis. I question just how straight Travis was because he took those ten inches without much more than a quiver. I don't care for the term "gay for you", love just comes along and not always in the person that you'd expect. Ms Dalton did a great job developing both Travis and Gary and I couldn't help but like them both. I also liked that the porn industry was not painted as something dirty. Both men needed money and having sex on camera was a fast way to make it. The sex was hot and while some of the story was cliche, most gay romance stories have some cliche as it's what keeps us coming back for more. When both men discover that the make-believe is real, everything changes on film and off but we aren't given the hearts and flowers. We are given a heartfelt love that comes through to the reader. The HEA ending just blew me away with its simple romance. This was not a heavy read but it is one that you'll enjoy all the way.

I wanted to try this book because stories with unusual shifters appeal to me, and here are weredolphins.

I didn't like the writing at all: the narration was unbearably flat; everything felt mechanical.

CW: heavy domestic violence leading to medical examination and hospital/ER care, mentions of past rape

There are a lot of problems with this book, most of which revolve around the fact that it's one of the author's first novels and showing the roughness around the edges. I could list all the issues, but ultimately, I enjoyed this book. (I mean, unlike certain popular books, this book actually includes HEALTHY light BDSM dynamics! That alone is worth a read!)

The author did a great job of developing the characters and their relationships both in and out of bed. Tyler's insecurities and how they impact the way he lives and interacts with others was particularly interesting to explore.

Extra points to the author for taking a tone/theme (which happens to be hurt/comfort in this book) and just...adhering to it with brutal dedication. That consistent tone made it very easy to dive into the story and not want to come up for air.

I do wish some of the interpersonal conflicts between the three main characters were solved via means other than sex, but *shrug* it's a romance novel. Again, I ultimately enjoyed the book and want to continue the series.½

It's just relentless, over-the-top ANGST. With no narrative breaks. And random shoehorned vaguely sexual scenes as if the author remembered for a second she wanted to write a romance novel.

All of the weak writing from the first book is at the forefront in this one because there's no semi-decent character/plot arcs to compensate.

On average, I kid you not, at least one character cries/sobs/bursts into tears every other paragraph.

After running herself ragged for well over a month amid all the chaos, Nevvie inexplicably declared her desire for another baby. That's when my brain short-circuited and refused to read another word.

I liked the story, but there was a distinct lack of space in it! There's a lot more in the rest of the series though, so that helps. The main character, Emi, did act pretty emotionally immature, to an irritating level, but she is also supposed to be a lot younger than the three guys.

This was interesting. It was a bit of an odd book with lots and lots of sex. And by lots, I mean LOTS. At times, it felt like all the book was about was sex. The story of being captured, sold as pets, being breeders, and finding a home despite the situation was interesting when it wasn’t overshadowed by the sex.

This was a book I was actually reluctant to start reading. Tymber Dalton is a hit or miss kind of author for me. I either love or hate her work. Well this book truly was on the love side of things. I didn't want to put it down; resented the kids for expecting me to cook dinner... lol! When the tears started, everyone was asleep thankfully, so they couldn't make fun of me. And I don't cry easily over a story!

But these characters really got to me. They have been written with a beautiful touch. They all have their flaws, none are too perfect to be true. The relationships between them all is varied and not textbook standard or carbon copied.

Tymber Dalton invites us into this wonderful, exciting and alien world and makes us at home there. She takes us on a journey of love, growth and adaptation to all things strange and beautiful. I won't tell you that the story is without it's flaws; the use of the term "milker" was a bit jarring to be honest, but not enough to put me off. But the ending was perfect for this tale.

I was left satisfied, completely! It's definitely a story I will be revisiting in the future.

Yes, it was unrealistic...and cliched, and surprisingly less porny than I would expect in a plot revolving around the porn industry, but I couldn't stop reading because I really wanted to believe!

I found this to be a hard read, these are 3 difficult people who were at various times throughout the book very hard to like, or sympathize with. Still it was well written and thought provoking.

I loved this story! I think my favorite part is the flawed Dom hero. She made him real. He wasn’t this enigmatic guy with a God complex who could do no wrong. He was adorably flawed. That made this story for me. You don’t find that realistic part very often. Other than that, it was a sweet story of two people who find their way to each other and just happen to like really kinky sex.

A good book but . . . it has another male dominant as one of the three main characters. Another male dom. I'd thought maybe there would be a female dominant as a main character. Still, a good book and worth a read. On to the second book.

This guide is good for the basics if you know absolutely nothing about BDSM. For those who do know something about it and are looking for writing techniques for craft, there isn't a lot here aside from the obvious avoid cliches etc. So if you are after a BDSM 101 book, go for it, but for craft, seek help elsewhere.

This is a great book which took me totally by surprise. I admit that I found it very hard to get into, most of the first half of it felt like a set-up for the rest. A very essential set-up, but I can only say that with the benefit of hindsight. I must admit that it didn't feel like it at the time of first reading it.

The whole situation the main character, Dale, finds himself in is just too weird for words. I think that may be why the author spent a lot of time and effort on explaining the details. Dale is captured by the Terrans' enemies, the Algonquans, but he is not a political prisoner, he is now a "breeder pet". When he meets fellow "pet", Mark, he finally gets some explanations. The emotional depth of their feelings for each other, as well as for two more "pets" and their master is believable and moved me to tears at the end.

This is not your standard novel. It has some very weird and potentially disturbing situations in it. Due to the higher intelligence and development of the Algonquans, humans really would be seen as pets by them. This is very hard to take, but makes perfect sense from an "objective" (i.e., non-Terran) point of view.

If you enjoy a sci-fi story with a truly different (and sometimes scary) point of view, you will probably like this book.

I didn't read the first volume of the series and found that this second one stood quite well on its own. I loved the way the two main characters Jeb and Boon added a third man, Avery, to their relationship.

Written with a lot of humor, this book has a simple but quite entertaining plot. A man dressing up as a woman to hide from 'the bad guy' is quite funny. Most of the book focused on the three men and how they found a way of relating to each other and that is why I liked it.
