Fiona Mason is a widow who has taken the advice of a friend and decided to get a job to keep herself busy. That job turns out to be as a tour manager for a luxury coach company. But on the day they are to leave, one of the passengers is missing, and Fiona discovers his body behind a dumpster. Finally on their way, she hopes nothing else will befall them. After all, some of her passengers aren't the happy type, and she has her hands full keeping them all pleased and full of delicious food.

When another passenger disappears, she learns that the man was on the case of locating diamond smugglers. Now she's sure that the killer is among her guests, but she's trying to not think about it. Hard to do when little accidents are happening and passengers are late coming back to the bus and hotels. What's a woman to do? Try and find out who the murderer is, of course...

This is the first book in the series, and it seemed interesting so I thought I would give it a try. The writing is very good, and Fiona is a likable protagonist. While I will admit there were more than enough passengers to keep track of, at times it was a little difficult figuring out who was who, and I had to go back to the beginning pages to check. Not that easy to do on a Kindle, so the next best thing is to write down the names. Things I don't prefer doing while reading.

Still, the mystery itself was done well, and while I figured out the murderer long before Fiona, it did not temper my enjoyment of this book. I like how the mystery played out, and because of this, I will read the next in the series. Recommended.

Poor woman! No one believes her. She's ignored and lectured, and told to stay out of it. But a sister knows a sister, and she's not letting her sister's death be called a suicide.
This book drew you in, and took a strangle hold of you, and wouldn't let you go.
The diary notes were fascinating - a trip of a lifetime. The descriptions of the animals, the plants, the other cruise attendees, all magically done.
Flicking back to modern day, the interpersonal relationships were complicated, but understandable.
A few Midsomer Murderesque deaths, and you have in your hands the perfect mystery book.
I can highly recommend this book.
