Craats, Rennay. Roald Dahl. Mankato, MN: Weigl, 2003. Print.

“Roald Dahl”, by Rennay Craats, is suitable for readers of about the ages of 8 to 11. Children will be attracted to the content, as it covers topics such as Dahl’s “Early Childhood” “Getting Published” and “Popular Books”. “Roald Dahl” also provides some useful additional features. A few examples are “Creative Writing Tips”, “Writing a Biography Review” and “Fan Information”.

The information is well set out. As well as this the photos are both interesting and relevant, with clear captions.

However Dahl’s character would have been more accurately depicted if Craats had included quotes, rather then just a straight narrative. Consequently for this reason, I don’t think this biography fully represents a fair and balanced approach.
