the book had potential, but the story and character development was rushed.

The writing style was just too light and cliche. I gave up at 10%.

Book about a young single mother moving to a new town, and finding that she is not only a witch, but has been declared a witch queen.

This was #1 in a series, may be worth continuing (if books are cheap). I didn't get so enamored that I'll want to spend much on the next one(s).

Author has now managed to introduce vegetarianism, fat phobia, sugar phobia which is now creating an epidemic of osteoporosis and osteopenia due to consumption of diet soda and other artificially sweetened things a long with her other bad science.

While saying the Witches believe in physics the author forgets laws of energy. Every action has an equal reaction. The magic performed has no price and is used for a lot of selfish reasons not to better the world except their own.
