I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. Susan Monroe has a perfect family and a perfect life. She has two kids and a loving husband. What she doesn’t realize is her content life isn’t quite realistic. Her family is given monthly rations; their supposed happy life has been due to reconditioning. Travis Reynolds, the Chief of Police in New Haven 56, is human. He’s aware that this 50s community he, his wife and daughter live in isn’t realistic. But he makes it is duty to keep this community safe from harm.

This book was The Stepford Wives on super steroids! The biggest decision for the women was what kind of welcome package to bring their new neighbors. This was a fun read for me, lots of unexpected twists to keep you engrossed throughout the novel. My favorite character was Jenna, she was a Glistening bounty hunter, she’d capture them for reconditioning and then they’re placed in a New Haven to begin their new lives. This book had it all, action, suspense and mystery. This is one of the best dystopian novels I’ve read in quite awhile.

Blood Lust is book one of The Blood Sisters series. Amanda has a very pure heart; completely untainted by the world around her. She has a special gift of healing and feels she needs to heal every lost soul she encounters. Her sister Jessica is her protector. She is in constant battle to keep Amanda safe from the demons that want to corrupt her. Will she be able to save her this time? Where's Aunt Gwen?

This was an awesome page turner. I love a good story of Good vs Evil, and this one certainly doesn't disappoint. I think Jessica lives with a lot of guilt and I really hope that some of that is addressed in the rest of the series. I also enjoy the hint of a reignited romance between Jessica and Duncan. All in all, this was a great book with heart pounding excitement! I can't wait to continue this series!… (más)

Lara Crane has been spending the past ten years missing her mother. She's told that her mother was murdered during a mugging; a senseless murder. On Lara's sixteenth birthday, her father gives her a gift certificate for Rewind, a time travel agency, so that she could revisit her first birthday and see her mother. Her first visit will not be her last. Lara is more determined than ever to break all the rules, travel back and save her mother. She begins revisiting the timeline to train herself to get to the destination within her allotted fifteen minutes to prevent her mother from getting shot. Not only does she find out it wasn't true, the outcome is nowhere near what she expected; every aspect of her life is completely different. She didn't expect her entire life to change, but it does. As she tries to figure out a way to right everything that she sees wrong, she inadvertently places everyone around her in danger.

Time travel novels have always been a favorite of mine. Jill Cooper certainly keeps us completely intrigued throughout the book, with lots of twists you won't see coming. There's even two gorgeous teenage boys vying for Lara's attention! The characters are all realistic and you can understand completely why Lara wanted her mother back. This story does a wonderful job showing how something presumably harmless can change your surroundings in a big way. This was absolutely amazing and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.… (más)
