DESCRIPTION, NOT REVIEW: Curious about her birth mother, Jenna Caldwell leaves Chicago and sets off to find the woman who gave her up for adoption. But her life is turned upside down one fateful night. After surviving an automobile accident, which leaves one woman dead, Jenna realizes her life has been stripped away. She’s trapped in the body of another woman.

Jack Bolinger finds it hard to believe his wife doesn’t remember him, their daughter, or their rocky marriage. He finds it even harder to believe he’s falling in love with this woman. But something is different about her since the accident, which left her with amnesia, or so he thinks. In fact, he swears she isn’t the same person at all. However, when he suspects that prior to the accident she may have hired someone to kill him, he soon realizes the mistake he’s made by trusting her.

Jenna must try to stop a vicious killer from harming Jack. At the same time she must try to prove her love for her newfound husband, along with proving her innocence. Starting over with so many lies standing between them, and a killer on the loose, could be the biggest challenge of their lives. But these two people have no choice but to forget about their pasts and let love save them.

It’s so easy to form an attachment to Ms. Conrad’s characters, even the bad guys at times. There’s some excellent dialogue as well as scenarios that make them come alive. When the people act out of character it’s sometimes hilarious even though it never detracts from the suspense or the action. I really like the way this author builds all parts of her tale into a whole novel that leaves me wanting to read more of her work.

After witnessing a murder, Peyton Delaney is on the run from the mob and looking for protection–disguised as a hooker. She has no idea who to trust anymore, especially when the detective who was supposed to keep her safe is shot and she discovers it was an inside job. Now, at the detective’s insistence, she must find his best friend and beg for the man’s help. But how can she be sure she can trust this man?

Ex-cop Reeve Sinclair has no room in his life for a woman like Peyton, yet he agrees to babysit her as a favor to a friend. Reeve soon finds he has more trouble than dodging bullets; he’s actually fallen in love with a hooker, or so he thinks.

Love, Lies, And High Heels
By Debby Conrad

Rusty is a rich, spoiled woman who seems to never be appreciative for the things that she has. She had inherited the money she had, from her past family members, and was always in the view of the paparazzi. Her present boyfriend, Marcell, a famous race car driver has the idea of marrying Rusty. But Rusty has different plans.
She decides she doesn't want to be with Marcell anymore, and that puts him on edge. Marcell proposes to Rusty, and she declines. But then, her father's friend Luke, comes to get Rusty, because she and her father have been apart for 21 years. And Rusty has to decide whether she wants to go back to the ranch to see her father, or stay at her luxurious home.
The book, Love, Lies, And High Heels, by Debby Conrad, is a book about Rusty's life of family decisions, and paparazzi filled life. When Luke arrives at her house, Rusty is very surprised to see him. She asks what he is doing here, all the way out here from Texas. Luke tells Rusty about, her father wanting her to leave her high-maintenance, life and live out on the ranch in Texas. Rusty declines this too, because she loves her her life here way too much, so Luke decides to lie and say that her father is very sick and may be dying. With this, Rusty, grabs her bags and starts packing to go and see her father for awhile. But she has no idea what she is getting into.
I recommend this book to girls, age 14 and up. The reason for this is because there is foul and inappropriate language here and there. I recommend this book to girls who like mystery, love/romance, and action books. This book is mainly for girls because it deals with women making decisions in their life, that is realistic, and very suspenseful.
The book Love, Lies, And High Heels, by Debby Conrad is a romance and mystery novel, that is a great read for any girl, in their teen years. It deals with love, and a lot of decision making, which makes the book even better. If you would like to read this book, go get it, you will not regret reading this book. You will give it 5 stars for sure!!

Rustina, aka Rusty, was a spoiled, rich, high class snob in Luke's valued opinion. Everything from her delicately sculptured hairstyle to her pink tipped toe nails reeked money. So what in the heck was he going to do with her back at her father's ranch, sitting by his bedside believing that he was on his deathbed? Rusty hated the tall, aggravating cowboy and felt he was the worst kind of influence on her ailing father. She did everything in her power to get rid of him, but he was a sucker for her red hair and fiery temper to match. When Sam, Rusty's dad, gave her a last dying wish, Luke began to look a whole lot different in Rusty's eyes.… (más)
