* While geared toward teaching music, [What the Students Taught the Teacher] is applicable to any teaching environment.
* The book is somewhat helpful for any teacher, and very helpful for beginning teachers.
* It includes approximately 20 tips on teaching children well.
CONS:
* All of these points should have been learned (by the teacher) during their own training to become a teacher.
* The book is written in a simplistic, almost mystic, style.
* The style of writing is so zen-like that it almost appears as if the writer has a condescending attitude toward the reader.
Conclusion:
If you have any training in education, don't waste your time with this book. If you have absolutely no training in education, this would be good as a sort of "Cliff Notes for Educators." That said, I would still recommend you check it out at the library, or buy it used. In my estimation, the book is not worth half the cover price ($7.95 USD).… (más)
